Our Story

Strategic Ledger Consultants started with a working relationship that just kept working. We (Tony Keckeis and Sunny Cho) first teamed up in 2016 and crossed paths on projects for years afterward. Every engagement showed us the same problem: growing businesses were paying big-firm prices for junior-level attention, or going without real financial leadership altogether. In 2023, we founded SLC to fix that and provide quality finance and accounting support from experienced professionals with deep roots in both the public and private sectors, across multiple industries, at a fraction of what other firms charge.

Today, we’re a national firm. From our home base in Cincinnati, our team serves clients from Michigan to Florida, and from North Carolina to Arizona. Our clients range from $500K businesses to the Fortune 500, with our sweet spot in the $5 million to $50 million range, big enough to need real financial leadership, but not yet ready to carry a full-time CFO and back office.

Working with us is simple. Most clients engage us monthly, though project work is always welcome. You get one of us as your main point of contact, backed by our full team and both of us are always available when you need us. Tony brings the strategy: CFO-level planning, KPIs, and the analysis and investment tools that drive real decisions. Sunny brings the execution: systems, clean books, and hands-on operations. Together, that’s a complete finance department scaled to fit your business.

Since 2023, our client base and our team have grown steadily every year, mostly the old-fashioned way: project work done well that turns into a long-term partnership.

Tony Keckeis

Co-Founder | Fractional CFO

I co-founded Strategic Ledger Consultants with a simple belief: growing businesses deserve access to the same caliber of financial leadership that private equity firms and public companies rely on—without the need for a full-time executive finance team.

For nearly two decades, I’ve led finance and accounting functions across construction, real estate, manufacturing, hospitality, nonprofit, private equity, and public-company environments. My experience spans financial strategy, M&A, capital management, reporting, and the operational functions that keep businesses moving.

Career highlights:

  • Led finance and accounting for a private equity real estate investment firm and Registered Investment Advisor with approximately $800 million in assets under management.

  • Supported M&A transactions on both the buy and sell sides, including a $1 billion portfolio merger.

  • Sourced and placed more than $300 million in debt financing.

  • Overseen accounting, tax, compliance, insurance, IT, payroll, and benefits across investment and operating companies.

I hold a BBA in Accounting from the University of Cincinnati and was named a Cincinnati Business Courier Forty Under 40 recipient in 2024. I also serve in nonprofit board and finance leadership roles.

What that means for our clients: I bring high-level financial strategy and discipline to growing businesses, helping owners understand where they stand, navigate important decisions, and confidently plan for what’s next.

Sunny Cho, CPA and co-founder of Strategic Ledger Consultants

Sunny Cho

Co-Founder | Accounting & Systems

As a CPA and co-founder of Strategic Ledger Consultants, I’ve built my career at the intersection of accounting, finance, and technology—helping businesses strengthen not only their numbers, but the systems and processes behind them.

I hold a BBA in Accounting and Finance from the University of Cincinnati and bring nearly two decades of accounting experience across public accounting, construction, manufacturing, real estate, and private equity. My background ranges from financial reporting and compliance to acquisitions, system implementations, and complex accounting cleanups.

Career highlights:

  • Built a strong foundation in public accounting and tax, bringing a comprehensive understanding of financial reporting, compliance, and business structure to client engagements.

  • Managed the financial mechanics of acquisitions and dispositions, including closing entries, true-ups, prorations, and historical general ledger imports.

  • Led accounting system implementations, software upgrades, general ledger cleanups, and automated reporting.

  • Developed deep expertise in QuickBooks, MRI Software, and financial system integrations.

I’m a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor and an active business owner, giving me a practical understanding of the financial and operational challenges our clients face.

What that means for our clients: I help create the financial foundation businesses need to operate efficiently and grow—from accurate reporting and sound financial processes to better systems, cleaner data, and successful transitions.

 OUR APPROACH

Trust isn’t a pitch, it’s a track record.

We earn it the same way you'd earn it with anyone: by showing up, telling you the truth, and following through.

  • Straight talk, even when it’s not easy.

Numbers don't lie, and neither do we. If something's off, you'll hear it from us directly, not buried in a footnote.

  • Consistency over time.

Trust is built in the unglamorous moments: the monthly check-in, the quick reply, the follow-through on what we said we'd do.

  • Your goals set the agenda.

We don't push a one-size-fits-all playbook. Every recommendation ties back to what you're actually trying to build.

  • “This is the clearest I’ve understood my own books in years, maybe ever. The work they did to clean up my financials is what made the sale possible. Accounting is the last thing you want to spend money on, but it was well worth it in the end.”

    —Jenny M.

  • “Honestly, if I had to handle the accounting side myself, I’d have walked away years ago. I keep telling them they should be charging me more.”

    – Mark P.

  • "I was standing up three locations at once. They kept the back office in line so I could focus on the build-out and daily operations."

    – Brian L.

  • "You did exactly what you said you were going to do."

    – John F.
